1 Chapter a Day’s take

Judah (to Israel, his father): Send the boy with me, and let’s be on our way. It’s the only way we’re going to live through this famine and not die of hunger—you, us, and all of our little ones. I will guarantee his safety. You can hold me personally responsible if I don’t bring him back to you in one piece. If anything happens to him, I am perfectly willing to bear the blame forever.

There was a time in Judah’s life when he chose to live apart from his family and made some irresponsible decisions. It is obvious that he is now living near his father and brothers and the rest of his family. For the second trip to Egypt, he has voluntarily taken on the responsibility of caring for Benjamin. It is apparent that Israel loves his youngest son dearly, but instead of resenting Benjamin as he did Joseph, Judah is now willing to take very good care of this brother. Judah has changed. It’s never too late to change!
