1 Chapter a Day’s take

1-4 Jacob looked up and saw Esau coming with his four hundred men. He divided the children between Leah and Rachel and the two maidservants. He put the maidservants out in front, Leah and her children next, and Rachel and Joseph last. He led the way and, as he approached his brother, bowed seven times, honoring his brother. But Esau ran up and embraced him, held him tight and kissed him. And they both wept.

Jacob’s attitude toward Esau was opposite of what it had been the last time he saw Esau. Instead of trying to get the better of his brother, he is now honoring Esau. And Esau is now glad to see Jacob. We don’t know if Esau had planned to attack Jacob with his 400 men, but Jacob sure felt that it was a possibility. But Jacob’s attitude of humility touched Esau and their relationship was restored.
