1 Chapter a Day’s take

20 Then Noah built an altar to the Lord. He took some of every kind of clean animal and every kind of clean bird and offered burnt offerings on the altar. 21 When the Lord smelled the pleasing aroma, He said to Himself, “I will never again curse the ground because of man, even though man’s inclination is evil from his youth. And I will never again strike down every living thing as I have done.

Noah’s sacrifice would have been very extravagant! But God was pleased. When the Bible mentions that the Lord smelled the pleasing aroma of a sacrifice, it means that He accepted the sacrifice. And because of Noah’s extravagant sacrifice, God decided to never curse the ground again.

Today, God no longer wants sacrifices of animals because Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice. But, God still desires our sacrifices of praise and worship, etc. Have you ever made an extravagant sacrifice to God?
