1 Chapter a Day’s take

Each of you heft a stone to your shoulder, a stone for each of the tribes of the People of Israel, so you’ll have something later to mark the occasion. When your children ask you, ‘What are these stones to you?’ you’ll say, ‘The flow of the Jordan was stopped in front of the Chest of the Covenant of God as it crossed the Jordan—stopped in its tracks. These stones are a permanent memorial for the People of Israel. Verses 5-7

When God performed a miracle, He asked His people to create a permanent memorial to mark the moment. This memorial would be used for generations to remind God’s people of what He did for them at the Jordan River.

When God does something great in your life, find a way to mark the moment. Take a picture or find a trinket to remind you of His power in your life. Collect these photos or trinkets in a basket or box and share them with your children and grandchildren.
