1 Chapter a Day’s take

This is one of my favorite Bible stories. A single mom (& widow) was nearly out of food. There was a famine in the land and no more food was available. She had only enough to feed herself and her son one last meal. Then they would join the thousands of others who starved to death during this time of famine. Elijah, God’s man, shows up asking for food. He tells her to feed him first with the small amount she had left. She does and God miraculously multiplies her food from that point forward so she and her son had a continual supply of food during the famine.

This widow was asked to give away the very thing she needed the most (food). She obeyed and God brought her plenty of what she needed the most.

Moral of the story: Sometimes, God does not want you to have less of what you need the most. He wants you to have more of what you need the most. But the key to getting it is to give away the very thing you need the most.

What do you need most right now? Could God be asking you to give that very thing away?

What is your take?
