1 Chapter a Day’s take
Paul was human just like us. In verse 6 we read, Totally exasperated, Paul finally had it with them and gave it up as a bad job.” Paul had worked diligently explaining to the Jewish people that Jesus Christ was in fact the Messiah. They wholeheartedly rejected his teaching. He felt tired, frustrated, and like a failure. But we discover by reading further how Paul handled this:
- He redirected his efforts to other people groups that were interested in his message…and they were believing in Christ! (v6)
- His efforts with the Jews weren’t a total loss. Crispus, the meeting-place president. believed as did his household. (v8)
These are 2 great life lessons. When you work hard, but are getting poor results, change something. And don’t despair over your past. Even when you felt like a total failure, you probably accomplished some good things…though you may be unaware of it.
Have a GREAT day!!
