Philippians 3

The goal of 1 Chapter a Day is not to fill your brain with content. But, rather to look for God to drop a “nugget of truth” into your heart from each reading. This should be something you can apply to your life. The Bible is not simply a book to be learned…it is a book to be lived!

1 Chapter a Day’s take on Philippians 3:

Verses 8 & 9 say “all the things I once thought were so important are gone from my life. Compared to the high privilege of knowing Christ Jesus as my Master, firsthand, everything I once thought I had going for me is insignificant–dog dung. I’ve dumped it all in the trash so that I could embrace Christ and be embraced by him.” The Message

Humans have a tendency to create and focus on the “wrong list.” We think one set of things is important, when actually, it is something else that is important. When Paul (writer of Philippians under the inspiration of God) recognized this, he got rid of the things he previously considered important. Doing so eliminated distraction so he could better know, love, and embrace Christ. Wow!
