Stop Comparing — 1 Corinthians 4 — 03.14.13

1 Chapter a Day’s take

For who do you know that really knows you, knows your heart? And even if they did, is there anything they would discover in you that you could take credit for? Isn’t everything you have and everything you are sheer gifts from God? So what’s the point of all this comparing and competing? You already have all you need. You already have more access to God than you can handle. Verses 7 & 8

Comparison always leads to one of two destinations:

  1. You find someone who is doing better than you and you get discouraged.
  2. You find someone you are doing better than and you get prideful.

Both discouragement and pride are very harmful to you. Stop comparing. Just seek what God wants you to do with your life and give it your best!
