Bad Doctrine Bildad — Job 8 — 02.04.13

by Bruce on February 4, 2013

1 Chapter a Day’s take

There’s no way that God will reject a good person,
and there is no way he’ll help a bad one. Verse 22

Bildad’s attitude was accusatory…and his teaching was wrong. Though Jesus had not yet come, God’s acceptance has never been based on human performance. It is based on his grace and mercy. Bildad believed what most people still believe — be good, and God accepts you. This is just not true. There will be “good people” in hell because they rejected the free gift of eternal life that is only available through Jesus Christ. There will be “bad people” in Heaven because they turned to Christ for forgiveness, mercy, and grace.
