1 Chapter a Day’s take:
Don’t live carelessly, unthinkingly. Make sure you understand what the Master wants. Verse 17.
Ruthie and I have home schooled our children for years. When people ask why, we say “because God told us to.” And that is the truth. I do not think God calls everyone to home school. God calls some to put their children in public school, some in private school, etc. While I have never criticized where people put their children in school, I am extremely concerned about the way in which some people make their schooling decisions (and other life decisions too).
For example, some people put their children in public school by default. They do not think about the alternatives…they do not pray about the alternatives…they do not invite God into the decision making process at all. They just choose public schools unthinkingly! The Bible says do not live this way. Don’t live carelessly, unthinkingly, or over spontaneously. Make sure you consult God and understand what he wants you to do. Then do it. He’ll take it from there!
