02-06-12…Proverbs 6…Defeat Debt Fast & Save For Future Needs

by Bruce on February 6, 2012

1 Chapter a Day’s Take

This chapter is broken into five sections. The first two sections deal with financial wisdom. A brief summary follows:

  • If you are in debt to a family member, friend, or stranger…get yourself out of that mess (v3) as soon as possible! Take desperate (v3) measures if necessary. Don’t procrastinate–there’s no time to lose. Run like a deer from the hunter! (v1-5)
  • Don’t be lazy! Learn from the ant. All summer long it stores up food; at harvest it stockpiles provisions. (v8) When you are earning money, be sure to save some for the future. The ant knows that food will not be as available in the winter months. So it stores up extra when the harvest is plentiful so it can continue to eat through the lean times. If you have a great job now, thank the Lord. Be sure to save some or your income each payday. Many people who had great jobs two years ago are unemployed today.
