Read Colossians, chapter 1 in The Message
- Ask God to drop a “nugget of truth” into your heart.
- Read out loud.
- Keep a highlighter in hand.
- Your goal is to “listen” for the prompting of the Holy Spirit for a simple instruction to apply to your life. This Bible reading process is not content focused…it is life focused. Look for something you can live…something you can do.
- Highlight the scripture(s) that God used to prompt you about how to live life.
- You do not need to understand everything in the chapter. You simply need to understand one thing…that “nugget of truth” God wants to drop into your heart.
- In the comments section below, reference the verse(s) God used to prompt you. Then, explain what God spoke to your heart through that verse.
- You are looking for something short and simple. Don’t make this hard. You are reading a love letter from God. It will evoke feelings, thoughts, and ideas. Zero in on one only thing. Let the Holy Spirit guide you to the one thing he is motivating you to do today, December 1, 2011
