Not everyone is mature enough to live a married life. It requires a certain aptitude and grace. Verse 11
Jesus makes it clear that marriage is not easy. It is challenging. It requires a certain aptitude and grace.
I got married when I was 20 years old. Was I mature enough to get married? No! Did I have the aptitude and grace Jesus speaks of here? No! I got married anyway. I am still married 30 years later to the same wonderful person. Our marriage didn’t survive because we were mature enough in the early years. It survived (and in many ways, thrives) because we refused to allow divorce to be an option. This has resulted in maturing over the years and learning the certain aptitude and grace required to make marriage work.
