1 Chapter a Day’s take

As the end approaches, people are going to be self-absorbed, money-hungry, self-promoting, stuck-up, profane, contemptuous of parents, crude, coarse, dog-eat-dog, unbending, slanderers, impulsively wild, savage, cynical, treacherous, ruthless, bloated windbags, addicted to lust, and allergic to God. They’ll make a show of religion, but behind the scenes they’re animals. Stay clear of these people. Verses 2-5

This chapter instructs us to stay away from the kind of people described in verses 2-5. When we hang around people like that, we tend to become like them. Choose friends that love God and serve him.

This does not mean that we are to neglect sharing the good news of Jesus with everyone. It is simply instructing us that our close friends must not be like those mentioned above.
