1 Chapter a Day’s take

I’m not about to let his grace go to waste. Haven’t I worked hard trying to do more than any of the others? Even then, my work didn’t amount to all that much. It was God giving me the work to do, God giving me the energy to do it. Verses 10 – 11

Paul received God’s grace but did not want to waste it. So he worked hard to be a good person and to serve others. He did not work hard to be good and do good so he could “earn” God’s grace. He received God’s grace first — the free gift of forgiveness and eternal life — then he went to work to please God and serve others. Though all this work was hard and tiring, this chapter brings great news!

God gave Paul the direction of what to do and He gave him the energy to do it. Wow! I am thankful that God still provides us with the energy to do the things he calls us to do.
