Samuel was a godly man. His sons rebelled. Though we do not know details of Samuel’s parenting style, this is one of many examples in the Bible where adult children of great people go astray. None of us are perfect parents. We do our best and then entrust our adult children to God. Our adult children make their own choices.
Having a child that rebels against God does not make you a bad parent! Additionally, God is probably not finished with your child yet. Pray for your child. Trust God. Love your child just like they are. Take a deep breath. Stop the self-critique. Give yourself a break!
