1 Chapter a Day’s take:
“It’s who you are and the way you live that count before God. Your worship must engage your spirit in the pursuit of truth. That’s the kind of people the Father is out looking for: those who are simply and honestly themselves before him in their worship. God is sheer being itself—Spirit. Those who worship him must do it out of their very being, their spirits, their true selves, in adoration.” Verse 23 & 24.
These verses are short in length but say so much! Among other things, we are being taught to allow our emotions to be involved in our worship. It does not matter what others think of you when you worship. What matters is that you are fully engaged and don’t hold back. If you are really engaged in worship, you may want to clap or raise your hands. Go for it!
And do not pretend to be someone you are not. Be real. Fully engage. Pursue truth. Let go. Worship God!
