06-29-12…Joshua 1

1 Chapter a Day’s take:

Today’s chapter contains one of my favorite Bible verses ever. In fact, this verse is one of the reasons I invest time and energy into the 1 Chapter A Day project.

Verse 8: Make sure you carry out The Revelation that Moses commanded you, every bit of it. Don’t get off track, either left or right, so as to make sure you get to where you’re going. And don’t for a minute let this Book of The Revelation be out of mind. Ponder and meditate on it day and night, making sure you practice everything written in it. Then you’ll get where you’re going; then you’ll succeed.

Success comes when:

  1. I do what I already know the Bible tells me to do
  2. I stay focused and consistent in living out what the Bible teaches
  3. I read, ponder, meditate, and keep the Word of God in my mind…daily Bible reading, memorizing scripture, etc.
  4. As I do #3, I will learn new truths that I must implement into my life

If you do not currently practice memorizing Scripture, today is a great day to start. Write a Bible verse on a note-card. Keep it handy. Look at it repeatedly. Commit it to memory. Joshua 1:8 is a great verse to start with. And remember, the difference between long-term memory and short-term memory is: REPETITION!

What is your take?
