1 Chapter a Day’s Take
Jesus is being watched closely by the religious leaders. It is the Sabbath and the Pharisees were scrutinizing his every move. They wanted to “catch” him violate their Sabbath rules. Jesus could have figured out a way to perform the miracle in a more private place. But Jesus is not a wimp! In verses 5 & 6…Jesus looks them in the eye, one after another, angry now, furious at their hard-nosed religion. He then proceeded to heal a man’s crippled hand right in front of his accusers.
Too often Christ-followers think that Jesus was a weakling…far from it. Jesus was not a “people-pleaser.” He was a “God-pleaser.” He was committed to do the right thing regardless of the cost. I want to be like Jesus!
